After 17 years of living in Florida, Katie left the USA to pursue an undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Ottawa. There, she participated in research focused on childhood cognition and infant language development. As a lab coordinator and research assistant, Katie enjoyed working with children and families while testing for and developing various studies related to future thinking, heart rate, executive function, object categorization, and responses to novel stimuli. In the year following her graduation, Katie discovered an interest in sexuality research while working on projects related to atypical sexual behaviours. She is excited to explore her research interests further as a graduate student in Dr. Ronis’ lab.
