Shauna Sutherland* (2014 - 2015)

I am a PhD student in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of New Brunswick.  My clinical interests lie with the psychological treatment of various disorders in emerging adults, adults, and seniors; however, I will be working with Dr. Ronis as a research associate during the 2014/2015 academic year.  The specific research project I am working on involves understanding the frequencies and types of sexual behaviors people engage in before the age of 16, in addition to how individuals cope with these early sexual experiences and how they have impacted life decisions and relationships.  I believe the skills and knowledge I will gain while working with this population in the Youth and Family Research (YFR) Lab will carry over to my clinical work by understanding how sexual well-being and coping styles may influence the mental health of clients.
